Mr. Samuel Zan Akologo is the Executive Secretary of Caritas Ghana, the Development and Relief Agency of the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference. Zan Akologo is responsible for initiatives and innovations that enhances knowledge and partnerships for sustainable development to deliver benefits to the poor. He has engaged proactively with the processes leading to the adoption of the new SDGs; from the Open Working Group process in 2014 to the Intergovernmental Negotiations and the UN General Assembly in 2015. Zan Akologo also participated in the first review of the SDGs in New York in 2016. His organization, Caritas Ghana's E-waste project is inspired by Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si on Care for the Environment to initiate interventions that address critical development issues comprehensively by reflecting Environmental, Social and Economic considerations. The Organization's E-waste Project - "CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME" is the principal idea of Zan Akologo. This project has been endorsed by the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference and has received wide ranging interest from diverse partners involving other Faith Groups, Government, Private Sector and other International Bodies.
