Die Krise der Öffentlichkeit (und Objektivität?), die sich bereits seit einiger Zeit abzeichnet, die offenen Anfeindungen gegen die “Lügenpresse”, beschäftigen uns genauso weiter wie die Erfolgsgeschichten aus dem (Investigativ-)Journalismus, Sternstunden internationaler Kooperation und Zusammendenken von Datenspuren und spannenden Narrativen. Wie gehen wir im Diskurs und in Kommentarspalten miteinander um? Wie wappnet man sich für die technologischen Entwicklungen, die es immer schwieriger machen, zwischen Realität und Fake zu unterscheiden? Ist es ein Widerspruch, dass Roboter solide Sportberichterstattung leisten können, aber gerade besonders Reporter und Kommentatoren dabei glänzen, die Gegenwart für uns einzuordnen? Welche Experimente und Projekte sollte man im Blick behalten?
In diesem Track wollen wir uns über den aktuellen Stand zur digitalen Medienfreiheit austauschen, möchten den Wandel der öffentlichen Sphären analysieren, die aktuelle Medienlandschaft in den Blick nehmen und die Weiterentwicklung von Social Media Plattformen als Informationskanäle debattieren. Genauso interessiert uns aber auch alles rund um online Unterhaltung und Vergnügen und vor allem die facettenreichen Spielarten der persönlichen Entfaltung online.
Wir laden hier Medienschaffende, Journalist*innen, Blogger*innen, Geschichtenerzähler*innen und Bürgerjournalismusprojekte aller Art ein, um ihre Meinungen, Forschungen und Erfahrungen zu teilen. Wir sind neugierig auf die Ergebnisse investigativ-journalistischer Recherchen, auf die Beträge von Initiatoren von Hashtag-Kampagnen, auf das was Social-Media-Analysten berichten und zuletzt auch auf Influencer (und darauf, ob und wie sie sinnvoll zu Medienlandschaft beitragen).

An activity that despite popular assumptions about copyright most people in Africa do not have the right to do.
