Kurzthese
Beschreibung
Participants (journalists, academics and of course everyone else interested in media and journalism) will have the opportunity to produce a short story they can take home from re:publica in Accra. After a 30-minute briefing, the participants will embark on a tour in a typical Ghanaian means of public transport: a “tro-tro”. The “journalists” will be taken by our driver to 2 stops and produce audio and video material with smartphones. Upon their arrival back at the event venue, they will edit it – ready to take the fruit of their work as mobile journalists home or upload it on social media.
On 2 tours on each day of the re:publica conference the participants will gain insights into the latest tools and techniques of mobile storytelling from designated experts. They will benefit from a two-hour activity with the opportunity to exchange with professionals of journalism, academia and young professionals with different backgrounds, experiences and knowledge in mobile storytelling.
New digital technologies have changed journalism as we know it. Journalism needs confident users of modern technology who have the tools they need and know how to use them on the job. Mobile reporting is basically the opportunity to “carry a studio in your pocket” – all you need to produce a perfect story is a smartphone. DW Akademie will provide the participants with smartphones, latest mobile reporting technology as well as insights, hints and tricks for creating successful stories.
This session will take place at the following times:

Tour 1: 12:30 - 15:00
