We will plan and discuss details and logistics for the second Africa Open Science and Hardware Summit to be held on April 10-13, 2019 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Another topic will be to define how the AfricaOSH community can scale collaboration across the continent.
Africa OSH (Africa Open Science and Hardware) is a community of makers, hackers, practitioners and researchers in science and technology, inclusive of government officials, private sector players and civil society across the African continent, the global South and the world. Africa OSH provides people interested in open science and hardware an alternative to traditional intellectual property (IP) and closed systems as a means to achieve locally adaptable technologies that will foster economic growth in Africa.
The first Africa Open Science and Hardware Summit was held in April this year in Kumasi, Ghana. The Africa OSH Summit 2019 will be held on April 10-13, 2019 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
During this meetup we will collect ideas and brainstorm on programme design, activities throughout the year, and how best to enable networking and collaboration within the Africa OSH community, and in exchange with other maker, hacker and science communities globally.
