Amma Aboagye has over ten years of social development experience working in strategy, policy and communications spheres across various sectors including, trade, education, agriculture, environment, peace and governance, and health. Amma is a fervent believer in the power of people to drive change and has been using various forms of media, including blogs and radio programming, to empower youth and promote meaningful conversations about the role Afrodiasporans play in their global advancement. Amma has worked in a myriad of positions from school teacher to education policy coordinator to her current role as Science, Tech, Innovations and Partnerships (STIP) Advisor at USAID where she works to promote STIP for sustainability in West Africa. Recently, Amma launched The Afropole, an online platform which seeks to address market inefficiencies that prevent African and Afrodiasporan businesses from thriving on a global stage. Through the Afropole, Amma is uniting Afrodiasporans across the world for the purposes of building strong businesses through immersive and experiential events like "We Are Wakanda" and "Girl Gone Global", an online newsletter called "The Mojisola Report", a curation of art collaborations called Art x Afropole and advisory services to connect businesses across the diaspora. Amma sees The Afropole as both a meeting place and a movement to connect Afrodiasporans, build trust and ensure our entrepreneurial ventures gain the international traction they deserve.
