He is a singer, songwriter, composer, poet and storyteller. Born and bred in Accra, Ghana, he takes inspiration from everyday life, interactions and observations and delivers messages of love, hope, inspiration and dreams of a better world.
ELi A Free takes his musical inspiration from the messages and struggle of Fela, Bob Marley, Osibisa, Ebo Taylor, Nina Simone and Benjamin Clementine namely. In the 2016 he put together the Walking Man Band, a creative collaboration of ELi A Free and other artists.
ELi first debuted his brand of soul afro-fusion to the world in 2013 when his song The Devil Is In The Detail featured in the Fader. He has since collaborated with internationally reputed Ghanaian artists such as Kyekeyku, E.L and Wanlov as well as international artists such as the Israeli American duo Sabo and Rob.
