I'm a 29 year old German living and working in Ghana. Although I'm a Graphic Designer with a Bachelor of Arts acquired in Berlin, I'm finding myself working with E-Waste (WEEE) at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Ghana. I'm passionate about the Old Fadama scrap yard; also known as Agbogbloshie. Although informal recycling of some components of end-of-life devices leaves behind an environmental footprint, it's one of the most fascinating places in the world. A raging current of car-, electronic- and plastic-scraps. I like to take a closer look at the abstruse organism that you find at second glance and the interchanging value chains that have been created over the past few years.
